| About Abbott4D: |
|
Abbott4D is a program to
display four-dimensional objects. You can easily create points and line
segments in the four-dimensional space. Additionally, you can display
platonic solids and their four-dimensional "pendants", the
four-dimensional polytopes. The theory behind the calculation of these
objects and their projection into the three-dimensional space will be
described in detail in the online paper "Flachlaender und Hypertaeler -
Projektionen n-dimensionaler geometrischer Objekte". Abbott4D
is only available in german yet.

Abbott 4D is suited for
students, teachers and hobby mathematicians for whom the fourth
dimension is fascinating.
Teachers, for instance, can easily show platonic solids and calculate
their vertices. A further function lets you demonstrate the reaction of
objects rotating within the fourth dimension.

The digital attached
essay of about 120 pages "Flachlaender und Hypertaeler - Projektion
n-dimensionaler geometrischer Objekte" describes the complete
mathematical theory behind the platonic solids and their
four-dimensional “pendants” (the regular polytope) in detail.
Beginning with the two-dimensional level the basics are built up step
by step in order to understand the complex mathematical relationships
of the fourth dimension. Here, neither mathematical proofs nor
descriptive explanations are ignored. Many more complex figures in the
book are also applicable for 3D glasses for an even better image. |
